Opportunities, Challenges and Experiences
This program offers an opportunity to work, learn, experience American culture, and build your resume through both paid and unpaid internships in the U.S. It includes internships with U.S. companies, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies across the country.
Interns receive a monthly stipend of approximately $1,500 to $2,000, providing a chance to gain specialized knowledge and practical experience in your field while developing international competitiveness in one of the world's leading countries.
nternships are available in various fields including state legislatures (both House and Senate), state government agencies, city halls, urban administration, mayor's office, parks, environmental services, fire services, safety operations, 119 emergency system operations, zoos, gardens, art museums, automotive repair services, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants, design, home shopping, management, economics, accounting, fashion, computer science, web design, graphic design, skincare, beauty, hair design, nail design, retail, IT, marketing, automotive maintenance, aircraft maintenance, hotel management, tourism, culinary arts, baking, trade, cosmetics, printing, law, political science (e.g., Congressional aide), administration, executive management, and public and private assistant teaching positions (math or science majors).
All documents should have names, dates of birth, nationality, and personal signatures that match those on your passport.
3. Passport CopySubmit a copy of your passport with at least 12 months of validity remaining.
4. English Financial StatementSubmit this if you have more than one year of relevant work experience related to your field of study after graduation.
6. PortfolioRequired only for applicants in fashion, graphic design, or web design.
7. Introductory VideoCreate a video in English, no longer than 2 minutes, introducing yourself and explaining your motivation for applying for the internship. (Some companies require this to assess your English proficiency.)
8. Cover Letter (Statement of Intent)Include an introduction about yourself, your motivation for applying, the relevance of the internship to your field of study, what skills and knowledge you hope to gain from the internship, and how you plan to utilize this experience after returning home.
9. English ProficiencyYou can apply even if you do not have an official English proficiency score.
Even if your official score is low, you may still be accepted if you demonstrate adequate hearing and speaking skills in interviews with the internship company, J-1 visa sponsor, or the U.S. Embassy in Korea.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. It is advisable to submit your application and resume as early as possible to increase your chances of being placed with a desirable company.
