We would like to inform you of the schedule for the September J-1 Researcher Monthly Meeting. As scheduled, the September meeting will be held via Zoom on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. (U.S. Central Time).

September Presenters

Please note that the presentation order has been changed. All presenters are asked to carefully review the updated schedule and prepare accordingly.

Thursday, September 24, 2026 — 11:00 a.m.

• Presenters: Eunyoung Park, Wonjae Yang, and Kisu Noh

Each presentation should be approximately 15–20 minutes and should include the following:

• Research completed to date
• Current research activities
• Future research plans
• Life and experiences in the United States
• Travel and cultural experiences
• Reflections and insights gained from living in the United States
• Experiences with family members, and other meaningful activities

Presentations may be organized in any format, including PowerPoint presentations, photographs, videos, or other appropriate media. However, all presentation materials must be submitted to the program coordinator in advance of the meeting so that they can be reviewed prior to the presentation.

Important Information Regarding Presentation Preparation and Participation

The J-1 Exchange Visitor Program is an official exchange visitor program administered and overseen by the U.S. Department of State. Sponsors are required to monitor participants' program activities and progress throughout their participation in the program. J-1 program information is also maintained through the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Accordingly, Midwest University is responsible for monitoring and maintaining appropriate records of J-1 researchers' research progress, program participation, and exchange and cultural activities. The U.S. Department of State may review a designated sponsor's compliance with applicable regulations, and program-related documentation and operational records may also be subject to review.

For this reason, please do not regard the regular Zoom meetings and research presentations as merely formal or internal university activities. Rather, they should be understood as an integral part of your official J-1 program activities, and all participants are expected to participate fully and responsibly.

In particular, researchers who are assigned to present are expected to prepare their presentation materials thoroughly and adhere to the designated 15–20 minute presentation time. Presentation materials must be submitted to the program coordinator in advance and should provide a meaningful overview not only of research progress but also of the researcher's academic, cultural, and exchange experiences in the United States.

All presentation materials and records of meeting participation will be maintained as part of the J-1 program records. Failure to give an assigned presentation without a legitimate reason, inadequate preparation, or repeated absence from required monthly meetings may be taken into consideration when evaluating participation in Midwest University's J-1 program and, depending on the circumstances, may affect continued participation in the J-1 program and maintenance of lawful J-1 status.

Please keep in mind that these meetings are not simply internal university events. They constitute part of the J-1 Exchange Visitor Program operated in accordance with applicable U.S. Department of State requirements and regulations.
